About 10 years ago we put our first child in the care of Shannon. By the time our son was about to go to kindergarten we would hear him talk about the many things he did at Shannon’s School. This included music, arts and crafts, learning about days of the week, weather, and of course letters and numbers. We know without a doubt that Shannon and her teachings were key in preparing our son for traditional schooling. We were so happy with Shannon’s care we decided to have another child 4 years ago. We notified Shannon immediately so she could save space for our daughter. Our daughter loves Shannon so much that sometimes on weekends she will ask if she is going to Shannon’s. For anyone looking for childcare or a pre-k school for their child, we highly recommend placing your child in Creative Way.

Where to start… Over 5 years ago I walked into Creative Ways and I knew immediately that it was the place that I wanted my daughter to grow up in. Shannon quickly became our partner in raising our daughter. Shannon McMorrow loves the kids like her own. She showers them with love and provides a nurturing, safe and educational enviroment. Everything about the quality of care is amazing. I always appreciated the family atmosphere. In addition to providing lots of educational toys and cheery enviroment, Shannon incorporates music with her piano and guitar playing. The kids get to dance around and sing… which I love. Shannon is caring and compassionate but has just the right touch of discipline, and the kids truly love her. There’s nothing more valuable than having peace of mind while at work and knowing that my daughter was safe, cared for, loved, and happy!

We first met Shannon about 4 months before our eldest son started attending her school. From our first meeting, it was clear Shannon was deeply passionate about children and her loving attention showed through in the eyes of the children in her care. We knew we wanted our son to attend Creative Way but had to wait four long months until there was an opening available. When an opening at Creative Way became available, like all parents, we were apprehensive about sending our son off to a new place all day. Our son acclimated in just a few days. Every night we pick up a happy child. Our eldest son has attended Creative Way for nearly 3 years and our youngest son started as an infant and has been there for 2 years. My wife and I are deeply thankful to Shannon for helping us raise our children. Many of their successes can be attributed to her work and care. We couldn’t recommend a better person to care for your little ones.

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Shannon McMorrow. She will be a new resident in the state of Washington, but she is tenured in the field of childcare and early childhood education. Ms. McMorrow is a great asset for families looking for childcare. Both of my daughters (9 & 5) attended Creative Way from infancy till exiting kindergarten. Shannon creates and provides a positive enviroment for children to strive and grow in. The enviroment is extremely clean and organized.  All toys and materials provided are beneficial for children’s growth and developmentally appropriate. The meals and snacks were always parent and kid approved. She made sure that all food groups were present and that children were trying new food items frequently. The one thing I valued most of Ms. McMorrow is her flexibility. My youngest daughter is asthmatic and required breathing treatments since 9 months old. Ms. McMorrow never saw this as an issue  and incorporated treatments into the daily schedule. She values each child’s uniqueness and accommodates in any way that she can.

We have been sending our daughter to day care with Shannon for almost 4 years. We have been happy every day since for the decision we made. Our daughter is thriving, Shannon works with the kids to learn their basic preschool basics, which my daughter is ahead of many of her peers on. She does different activities, my daughter loves music time and comes home singing lots of different fun songs. However, more importantly Shannon focuses on teaching caring and compassion to the kids. For Shannon, one of the most important aspects of her job is helping raise good humans. Shannon is AMAZING at what she does. She keeps the kids in line, but I have never seen her raise her voice or get frustrated. She is a baby and child expert (in my opinion) but never judges parents or tries to push her opinion, but she is a great resource if you need advice. Three years after my daughter started I got pregnant and told Shannon before I told my parents to make sure she saved a spot for him! Unfortunately my son ended up being really fussy and colicky, he screamed all day, home or daycare. He would spend the whole day screaming and refusing the bottle. Shannon assured me that they would keep at it and it would get better. It did! I now drop off my 9 month old and he smiles and watches me leave from her arms. I pick up a happy baby and get a full report of his day and how well it went. We are so lucky to have Shannon as part of our extended family.
